October short story
It was staring at me, from the window. Its eyes never wavering from meeting mine. Its mouth was just a wide jagged line of sharp teeth frozen into a lip-less smile. Its long claws curved and filthy with something awful. There was something staining the window, the street light outside illuminating chunks and making the dripping lines glow. The creature was unmoving from its spot.
The terrifying part is that it’s on the inside of the window.

The End Of Surrender
Flop forward into this half-life,
fall for me. Let the roads be easy
and let the easy be. It's all you can hope for
when the sun's past the years
and hope has half drained away.
So come on and fall. In this half-light
you almost look tall. Your calves
like pale aliens, a waxing tide.
Come on down over to my side
to where the steady wet has come.
It's a long time since we were set in stone.
It's a long time until we're undone.

A Dream of Splendour: Chapter 6
Thousands of miles from Brossals Tower lay the Imperial Palace. A rather unusual building in many senses, a sprawling stone building, covering hundreds of miles, and many floors. It's tall stone spires and reached far into the sky, massive thick buttresses flying up along the walls in support of the archaic, Cathedral-like building. Each floor was cavernous in height, the towering ceilings themselves arched, interior pillars filling the miles of corridors. The Administrative Wing was always a hive of activity, filled with the comings and goings of Government Staff and Aides as they carried out their duties, legions of guards filling its halls
